To date, one million Ohioans have taken out payday loans. We’ve seen the need for change in our communities first hand, and it’s time to do something about it.
We stand with the vast majority of Ohioans who support sensible payday loan reforms that will:
- Set rates that are fair for borrowers and viable for lenders
- Ensure installment payments that are affordable
- Provide reasonable repayment time
- Maintain access to credit
Our coalition is working to enact Ohio House Bill 123, which closes a loophole in legislation that allows payday lenders to charge borrowers unlimited fees. This bipartisan proposal would make payday loans fair and affordable by capping interest rates and setting reasonable repayment schedules. We are a growing statewide network that supports this effort modeled after proven state-level reforms.
